Out of season today: oysters and open fires

Happy May Day, or International Workers' Day; but before you go building a huge bonfire, shucking oysters, and slithering around a maypole — as fun as all that sounds — remember that your fire can net you a fine if blazing in Hamilton County, and that oysters are unofficially out of season until September.

As far as I know, there are no restrictions upon maypoles.

yes, but if you're cooking your oysters over the fire, you're OK.

I think the huge bonfire might be okay:

"Only recreational fires are allowed during the restriction period. A recreational fire is a cooking or campfire, using charcoal or clean, untreated firewood. These can occur in designated areas or on private property for cooking, pleasure, or ceremonial purposes."

Good point. I was just trying to point to the burn ban, but clarity is a good thing.
