Candidate roundups - updated
Qualifying closed at noon today for the August 7 primaries, which include races for all 99 state House seats and 16 of the state Senate's 33 seats; plus all 9 U.S. House districts, and one U.S. Senate seat.

Im sad Dwana dropped out. She would have made that race interesting. Bob Shutt filed from what I heard, to take on Delores. Dont know why...she'll take Fayette and that will be that and his son is going to TCU to play big time college football. George B on 101.5 in Jackson said an hour ago that State Rep Jimmy Eldridge will be unopposed this year.

Tim Linder from Selmer filed for the senate as a GOPer. In the house race for randy rinks seat the following filed:Vance Dennis,Stan Wheeler, Bill Brown,Shawn Duren, Jerry Hunt. Running as independents for Rinks seat will be Stephen Childers and Donald Robinson. Cant find any democrats as of yet for Wilders seat but Im sure someone filed.
